Founded in 1837 by a blacksmith looking for a better method for plowing prairie fields, John Deere is now one of the leading producers of agricultural and heavy equipment worldwide. Holding 40% of the U.S. market and 25% of the worldwide market, the company sits at #84 on the list of Fortune 500 Companies. Today, John Deere has headquarters in Moline, IL, Germany and Latin America, but this wasn’t always the case. Join us as we explore the story of Deere & Company, from its early beginnings through the entity it is today. Our main exhibit hall offers an extensive collection of farm equipment featuring the likes of John Deere, Allis Chalmers, & Minneapolis Moline plows, tractors, and more! Other attractions include some of Yamhill County’s earliest fire equipment, motorized vehicles, animal-powered carriages, and delivery wagons.
Other displays include stories of the dairy and logging industries in Yamhill County.
